Overview

NewsNowNG is a Nigerian news platform bringing readers the latest breaking news and videos from the entertainment industry. I led a major revamp of its interface as a remote frontend developer.

Context

A large content platform where readers move between the homepage, category listings and article pages, on every screen size.

The problem

The platform needed a cleaner, faster and more readable interface: a clearer visual hierarchy, better layouts on mobile, and a page structure that search engines understand.

My role

I led the UI revamp across the whole platform, working remotely with the NewsNowNG stakeholders from June 2024 to June 2025.

Thinking

1. Readability first

   The homepage, category listings and article pages were rebuilt around reading: a clearer hierarchy and less noise around the story.

   Layouts were reworked for small screens and pages tuned for performance, so readers get to the news faster.

A revamped interface across the core sections of the platform, using modern UI patterns agreed with the stakeholders and an SEO-friendly page structure.
