Overview
MovieBox is a responsive movie discovery app. Visitors browse trending and top-rated films, search for a title, open its details and keep a list of favourites.
The problem
Rendering large sets of posters from a live API can make a page feel slow, especially on weaker networks.
My role
I built the whole frontend: data fetching from TMDB, search, favourites and the responsive layout.
Solution
Posters load lazily and images are sized for the screen, so the first view appears quickly and the grid fills in as you scroll.
What was built
- Trending and top-rated lists
- Search across the TMDB catalogue
- Movie detail pages
- Favourites
Outcome
A working practice app on live data, used to sharpen how I handle asynchronous data and image-heavy layouts.
